Pastor Terry Westerfield

Pastor Terry L. Westerfield grew up on a small grain farm five miles south of Canton, Illinois. His home church is the Shields Chapel United Methodist Church, a rural congregation located west of Canton. He graduated from Canton Senior High School, Spoon River College, and Bradley University with a degree in Accounting. Terry was employed as Construction Accounting Supervisor for Olin Chemicals Corporation in McIntosh, Alabama. He then was the Internal Auditor for the Sheridan Bank of Peoria.

Following a call from God into the ministry, Terry received his Master of Divinity Degree from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. He has served the following charges: Walnut Grove UMC (student pastor), Astoria and Sheldons Grove United Methodist Churches, Carrollton and White Hall First United Methodist Churches, Lewistown UMC, Maroa UMC, and Paxton UMC. He has served as District Youth Coordinator, on the Rules of Order Committee, and as Dean of an elementary camp at Living Springs for several years. He has led mission teams to West Virginia, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Tennessee. In 2008 Terry was a member of an Illinois Great Rivers Conference mission team to Liberia. He has been to Israel six times, most recently in March of 2018. He brings a wealth of personal experiences to the pastoral ministry.

Terry owns a small grain farm in Fulton County, Illinois, where he maintains the home of his childhood.
