Daily Scripture Reading: Acts 28:11-31
Unstoppable Faith
The journey of the gospel continues. Even though we find ourselves at the end of the Acts of the Apostles, the gospel continues to spread. Just think about how far from Jerusalem it has traveled by foot in this short amount of time. Today, we find the apostle Paul, a man of unwavering faith, on the island of Malta. He had faced shipwreck, snakebite, and various trials, yet his faith remained unshaken. This passage serves as a powerful reminder that God's purpose cannot be thwarted, and our faith in Him can make us unstoppable. The gospel moves through God’s people.
As Paul ministered to the people of Malta, we see God's miraculous healing through him. This underscores the truth that God's power is not limited by our circumstances. Regardless of the challenges we face, God can work through us to bring healing and restoration.
Despite his hardships, Paul continued to preach the gospel, even under house arrest in Rome. He welcomed all who came to him, boldly proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about Jesus. This teaches us that our mission to share the good news should never waver, no matter the circumstances.
In our own lives, we may encounter storms, obstacles, or opposition that threatens to derail our faith. Yet, like Paul, we can remain steadfast. Our faith can be a beacon of hope to those around us, just as Paul's faith led many to believe in Jesus. Even at the end of Acts, Paul encounters people that may hear but aren’t listening or actively arguing. However, seeds are being planted and the gospel is spreading.
Questions:
As you reflect back on your life, where do you see God’s handiwork?
Do you see God at work in your life today? Where?
If you don’t see God at work today, how can you strengthen your faith so that in the future you will see how God was at work in your life even today?
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the example of Paul's unwavering faith. Help us, Lord, to trust in Your purpose even in the face of trials and tribulations. Strengthen our faith so that we may be unstoppable in our mission to share the gospel and bring healing to those in need. May our lives be a testament to Your power and love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
